ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores contemporary interpretations of the relationship between nature and human-made structures, with a focus on agricultural landscapes, coastal vistas, and richly textured abstract compositions. Using hard-edge techniques and organic color palettes, I aim to distill complex visual environments into tranquil, stylized forms.

Rooted in my upbringing within the Mennonite tradition and shaped by a background in agriculture and education, my practice carries personal significance—blending structure with stillness, memory with materiality. Influenced by color field painters and 20th-century American modernists, I draw on both traditional foundations and modern sensibilities.

My goal is to create work that evokes a quiet sense of balance—inviting viewers into moments of reflection and appreciation for the understated beauty in everyday life.
