Structured Creativity
Bridges design and business.
Approach
My work focuses on translating complex ideas into clear visual communication. I design materials that help organizations explain their products, services, and strategy in ways that are practical, visually strong, and easy for teams and customers to understand.
I’ve worked across retail, wholesale, hospitality, and the arts, developing campaigns, sales materials, and digital platforms that translate complex products and services into clear, useful communication. Much of my work focuses on helping teams and clients articulate value through materials that are practical, well crafted, and aligned with broader organizational goals.
Alongside my work in marketing and design, I maintain an active studio practice as an exhibiting artist. That experience continues to shape how I approach composition, clarity, and attention to detail, reinforcing my belief that strong visual thinking can bring structure and confidence to complex ideas.
Across every project, I value respect for the people involved, integrity in the work produced, and a commitment to delivering solutions that are thoughtful, reliable, and genuinely useful.
Foundations
I was raised in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in a Mennonite community where work, craftsmanship, and service to others were part of everyday life. The wisdom of the people around me shaped my early understanding of responsibility and resourcefulness. My grandmother often reminded us, “Waste not, want not,” while my grandfather, a deeply industrious man, would say, “God helps those who help themselves.” Over time I came to appreciate these sayings less as strict instruction and more as reflections of a practical way of living—valuing effort, care, and making the most of what is in front of you.
My professional path began in education, teaching art and interdisciplinary programs in schools across New England. Working closely with students, faculty, and administrators strengthened my ability to communicate ideas clearly, adapt to different audiences, and guide creative work from concept through completion.
Those early influences continue to shape how I approach my work today. I believe in doing things well—approaching projects with care, discipline, and a commitment to producing work that is thoughtful, useful, and built to stand the test of time. That conviction now guides my work in marketing, design, and visual communication, as well as my ongoing studio practice as an exhibiting artist.
Work Examples
These projects reflect my work supporting organizations during periods of growth and change. Across roles in food distribution, hospitality, and small business consulting, I’ve helped translate evolving products, services, and strategies into clear marketing, sales, and communication tools.
Much of this work focuses on helping teams communicate effectively—introducing new programs, supporting clients in a changing landscape, and contributing to the renewal of established brands as they modernize and expand.
Together these examples show how thoughtful design and clear communication can help organizations move forward with clarity, strengthen relationships with clients, and support continued growth.
1. Service Launch
This section highlights Palmer’s first step into e-commerce after 175 years of traditional retail. The work focused on translating a new operational program into clear visuals, messaging, and systems that helped customers understand and adopt the service while laying the groundwork for future digital initiatives.
2. Sales Materials
These examples show how design supports sales conversations by translating complex services, product programs, and operational capabilities into clear, concise materials. From evolving sales packets to targeted one-page sheets, the goal is to equip sales teams with tools that communicate value quickly and consistently.
3.Client Partnership
This work focuses on direct collaboration with restaurant clients across Palmer sales territory. Through imagery, creative guidance, and menu support, these projects strengthen relationships, help operators present their food effectively, and reinforce Palmer’s role as a partner invested in the success of the restaurants we serve.
4. Brand Refresh
Following the retirement of its founders and sale, Tug Hill Vineyards entered a new chapter that required a refreshed brand identity and marketing strategy. I led the development of a cohesive visual system that honored the winery’s regional heritage while positioning the business for its next phase of growth.
